Veteran’s Brunch at Ware Hotel
Ware Hotel Apartments and the Greater Eastern Star Chapter 313 commemorated Veterans Day with a brunch to support the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). Organized by Ware Hotel resident Marcia Hines, the brunch raised $250 for WWP through an aluminum can recycling drive and monetary donations.
More than 25 Ware Hotel residents and guests attended the brunch, including City Commissioner Marian Solomon-Gaines; Ware resident and WWP beneficiary Doug Barnes, and Roy, Barnes’s Paws for Patriots veteran service dog.
During the program, Ware Hotel resident Clay Nelson spoke about the WWP and the charity organization’s impact on empowering injured veterans and their families. Resident Vera Fralick presented Barnes with the donated funds, which were allocated to the WWP’s local project office in Jacksonville, Florida.
