Laura Shen
Director of Investor Relations
Laura Shen, director of investor relations, is responsible for building and managing investor relationships for Affordable Equity Partners. In her role, she also oversees business development, builds federal and state tax credit modeling and participates in a variety of industry conferences and associations, such as the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, National Premium Tax Conference and Federal Bar Association.
Before joining AEP, Laura was vice president of middle market commercial banking at Cadence Bank where she managed charter school and middle-market business portfolios. Prior to that, she also gained industry experience as the manager of federal credits and tax incentives for RSM US LLP. In this role, she provided research and development tax credit consulting for middle-market clients, trained new staff and taught intern classes through a national training program. Laura also led RSM US LLP’s philanthropy program for two years, and in that time, she oversaw 85 offices and raised over $6.6 million for charity.
Laura received her bachelor’s degree in accountancy from the University of Florida, and then she went on to receive her master’s degree in accountancy with a focus on taxation from Wake Forest University.
In addition to her work with AEP, Laura is a board member of the Association for Corporate Growth Atlanta and has previously held the positions of national officer for the Sigma Kappa sorority and secretary of the Greater Atlanta chapter of Ascend Pan-Asian Leaders. Additionally, Laura is a licensed Georgia CPA, is OnBoard Ignite certified and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
